It's been a long time since I've posted on here. A LONG time. As in, basically a year. You won't find me around here much because spare time is something of the past.. and I like it that way. I've been busy keeping up with two toddlers that have boatloads of energy!
However, I wanted to take a little bit of time and do a little sibling snapshot - mostly for my record purposes. Yes, I have the baby books and all of that fun stuff.. but it's nice to have a digital reminder as well.
Hudson - 2.5 years
My toddler is growing into a little boy. It amazes me how much he is like a sponge - he soaks in everything everyone says.. and repeats it. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's not. He loves all things sports and outdoors. His favorite indoor past-time is watching basketball highlights and buzzer beaters on YouTube and then attempting to re-enact the plays with his own hoop in the living room. It definitely provides some good entertainment for mom and dad! His current favorite tv show is Team Umizoomie - or however the heck you spell it. Winter (well, if you want to call it that) is killing us over here and we are tired of being cooped up.. so some days you just have to watch multiple episodes and see all of the fun things you can do with shapes and patterns. If he could be outside 24/7 - he would. He loves shoveling snow, playing in his playhouse, throwing "fisbee" with Rooney and just being outside in the fresh air.
Hudson is still not a great eater. He is a huge fan of dry cereal and basically sustains himself off of chicken nuggets, french fries, mac & cheese, grilled cheese, yogurt, eggs, toast and pancakes. He still has a love for most fruits - apples, strawberries, raspberries, grapes and bananas. Milk is his go to drink and he has a milkshake a day to try and beef him up a bit! He's just a tiny little guy.
His love for new experiences and life itself is contagious. Everything fascinates him and his smile shines from ear to ear. I have a video of him seeing sharks at the aquarium for the first time. His happiness, excitement, smile.. all of it - just simply awesome. He has told everyone this week (about 100 times) that the "siwwy dolphin hit the ball out of the waber" followed by a huge belly laugh. I wish I could bottle up this time and save it so I can re-live these moments every single day.
He gave up his binky this month.. which makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy he is learning to cope without it, sad that it is just one more step in the growing up process.

Elizabeth - 16 months
How is my baby girl a walking and talking toddler already? This one is full of life, spunk, and sass. She talks like crazy and her favorite word is No. She knows exactly how and when to use it and has a little hand wave to go right along with the term.. and in-case you were wondering, everything is "mine". She loves being outside just as much as her brother, but prefers to just walk and run around our yard exploring new areas and finding new things to pick up. She's got a larger than life personality and is stubborn and strong willed just like her momma. She is obsessed with "hones" (phones) and wants to talk to anyone that will give her a minute of their time. Ellie has a current obsession with Mickey - anything that has to do with Mickey. She loves her baby doll, shopping cart, Little People toys and dragging her purse everywhere. While she isn't much of a napper, she is one heck of a sleeper at night!
Food is Ellie's jam. Pretty much any kind of food. She would eat mashed potatoes for days if you'd let her. She is super picky when it comes to sippy cups and has no problem throwing one on the floor if it isn't the one she wants at that time. She likes fruit smoothies on occasion and anything that her brother has.
Her drive and determination to do all of the things her big brother does and say all of the things he does never ceases to amaze me. She wants to be older than she is and works as hard as she possibly can to get there. Her smile is perfection and her laugh could make anyone melt. She has started to slow down when it comes to growth and is averaging out for her age. She has to carry the biggest blanket she has everywhere with her.. and I love that she lays her head on it like she did when she was a baby.
I still have a hard time believing that my babies are growing up so fast. I can have full on conversations with Hudson and Ellie chimes in like crazy. Hudson likes to tell me I do a great job at driving, but should slow down when I go downhill. They are learning so much, so quickly and it's hard to remember or even imagine life before them. I look forward to every minute I can spend with my munchkins and can only hope they know just how much they are loved.
